ABOUT SEDONA
Sedona is a picturesque town surrounded by red rock monoliths, located at the mouth of beautiful Oak Creek Canyon. Towering high above Sedona and its hallmark canyon rises the Mogollon Rim, a 2,000-foot escarpment formed from ancient deposits of limestone, mudstone, and sandstone when the area was the west coast of the still-emerging continent.
The awesome rim serves as the southwestern boundary of the vast Colorado Plateau and is home to the largest stand of ponderosa pine trees in the world. There are 1.8 million acres of national forest with seven precious wilderness areas.
